Welcome to GoMyTruck! This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our platform, including our Customers, Driver Partners, Fleet Owners, and Workforce Partners.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 of India. This document explains how we collect, use, and share your data when you use the GoMyTruck mobile applications and website.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, information we collect automatically when you use our services, and information from third-party sources.
A. Personal Information You Provide
- Account Details: Phone number, full name, language preference, and OTPs used for verification.
- Identity & Verification (Drivers & Workforce Only): Aadhaar card, PAN card, Driving License (DL), Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC), and Profile/Selfie photos. This is mandatory to ensure platform safety and prevent fraud.
- Financial Information (Drivers & Workforce Only): Bank Account Number, IFSC code, Bank Name, and Account Holder Name. We use this strictly to process wallet payouts and subsidies.
- Customer Details: Pick-up and drop-off addresses, recipient names, and recipient phone numbers provided during booking creation.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Location Information:
- Customers: We collect precise location data when you open the app to facilitate pick-up points.
- Drivers & Workforce: We collect continuous background GPS location data (latitude, longitude, speed, heading, and accuracy) while you are marked "Active" or "On Duty". This is strictly required to offer you nearby jobs (Job Radar), track active bookings, calculate distance-based payouts, and provide Proof of Delivery.
- Device Information: We collect your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token to send you critical push notifications regarding job alerts, payouts, and system announcements.
- Usage & Activity Data: We log your interactions with the app, such as accepted/declined jobs, completed courses in the Training module, earned badges, and your wallet transaction history.
2. Why We Request App Permissions
Our mobile applications request certain device permissions. We never request permissions we do not need.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- Core Functionality: To connect customers with nearby drivers and workforce members, calculate dynamic pricing, and facilitate logistics.
- Safety & Security: To verify the identity of our partners, preventing unauthorized personnel from accepting jobs.
- Payments: To calculate driver/workforce earnings (including distance, fuel surcharge, and surge) and deposit payouts into your linked bank accounts via RazorpayX.
- Communication: To send SMS/Push notifications regarding your booking status, wallet balance, and support requests.
- Dispute Resolution: We retain Proof of Delivery (POD) photos, GPS history, and wallet logs to resolve disputes between customers and partners.
4. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information in the following ways:
- Between Users: When a job is confirmed, the Customer and the assigned Driver/Workforce Partner will see each other's name, phone number, and location to facilitate the service.
- With Service Providers: We share limited data with third-party infrastructure providers:
- Razorpay: For processing payments, wallet top-ups, and partner payouts.
- Mapbox: For routing, navigation, and distance calculations (location data is anonymized).
- Government APIs (ULIP/VAHAN): For validating your Driving License and Vehicle RC.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your data to law enforcement or government bodies if required by Indian law, a court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
5. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures, including:
- End-to-end encryption for API communication.
- Secure token-based authentication (JSON Web Tokens).
- Cloud storage encryption (AWS S3) for sensitive documents like Aadhaar and PAN cards.
However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your OTPs and login devices secure.
6. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your personal data as long as your account is active.
- Account Deletion: You have the right to request account deletion at any time via the Support section in the app.
- Legal Retention: Even after deletion, we may be required by Indian tax and transport laws to retain certain records (like financial transactions, invoices, and completed booking logs) for up to 7 years.
7. User Rights under DPDP Act 2023
As a resident of India, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information.
- Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw consent for data processing (e.g., revoking location access), but this will result in the inability to use core platform features.
- Grievance Redressal: You may contact our Data Protection Officer for any privacy-related concerns.
8. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via Push Notifications or an in-app alert. Continued use of the GoMyTruck platform constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
